Medical Grade Micro Needling:
What is medical grade micro needling?
Micro needling is known as collagen induction therapy. It is a safe treatment that involves the body’s own healing process to help prevent ageing(fine lines/wrinkles), treat uneven skin tone, acne scarring, enlarged pores and scarring on the body.
Micro needling is the use of very small needles to repeatedly penetrate the layers of the skin in order to induce the wound healing process and stimulating collagen production to plump up the skin, reduce wrinkles and scarring.
D6Derma uses SkinPen Precision which is the only medical grade and FDA approved needling pen available on the market at present.

Platelet Rich Plasma:
What is platelet rich plasma (PRP) treatment?
Platelet Rich Plasma also known as Stem Cell Therapy or the PRP Vampire Facelift is an innovative non-surgical treatment for skin rejuvenation using platelet rich plasma from your own blood.
PRP encourages skin rejuvenation by stimulating the growth of collagen in your skin and the repairing of cells therefore improving blood supply to the skin cells to promote healthier and younger looking skin.
PRP can either be injected back into areas of your skin (face /eyes /neck /hands) that need to be treated or the plasma can be used as a topical serum combined with medical grade micro needling to penetrate deep into the skin for maximum absorbency.
PRP treatment visibly reduces lines and wrinkles and improves tired dull skin, photo damaged skin, dehydrated skin, dark spots and capillaries, scarring from trauma or acne.
It’s benefits include much improved skin texture, tone and pigmentation. PRP rebuilds the skin’s cells within the dermal layer.
PRP has been used for years as a very effective treatment in various medical and surgical procedures.
PRP is a very safe treatment for patients. The procedure is sterile, performed by a nurse and is using your own blood so you are not using any foreign products so there is minimal risk with doing this treatment.
What to expect from your PRP procedure?
Numbing cream is applied to the area that will be treated. A small amount (approx 10ml) of patient blood is taken in the clinic during your appointment. Blood is treated in a medical centrifuge to separate red blood cells from plasma serum (yellow in colour).
The plasma (PRP) is then either injected back into areas of skin that need to be treated or the plasma can be used as a topical serum combined with medical grade micro needling to penetrate deep into the skin for maximum absorption.
Is PRP a safe procedure?
PRP is a very safe treatment for patients. The procedure is sterile, uses patients’ own blood i.e. no foreign products and there is minimal risk associated with the procedure.
PRP has been used for years as a very effective treatment in various medical and surgical procedures to encourage healing and cell growth for damaged tissues.
Why is PRP so beneficial for the skin?
Naturally occurring growth factors in the PRP optimally benefit the skin's functions when they are penetrated back into the skin therefore stimulating the production of collagen and elastin while encouraging hydration and antioxidant properties within the skin.

What can PRP treat?
Tired skin, photo damaged skin, dehydrated skin, dark spots and capillaries, scarring from trauma or acne.
During PRP treatment will I look like I’ve been in a horror movie?
No! The PRP is yellow colour as the blood has been separated. The red blood cells are not used.
How long is the downtime with PRP?
Depending on the patient and their skin type people can have a downtime from 12-48 hours.
Normally the longest downtime is associated with injections around the eye area (max 48 hours).
Downtime varies depending on whether PRP is injected or used with medical grade micro needling.
With medical grade micro needling the healing process is normally quicker than without PRP due to the benefits of the growth factors in the plasma.
During your consultation the nurse will discuss all the available options with you.
Simply how does PRP work?
PRP rebuilds the skin’s cells from within the dermal layer either through injection techniques or via medical grade micro needling increasing the skin’s function by stimulating production of collagen and elastin while encouraging hydration and antioxidant properties within the skin.
When are the results visible?
Results can be seen within approximately four weeks post treatment. The renewal process is continuous for about three months after the procedure and the overall effects can last for up to a year.
How many treatments are recommended?
Again it depends on what is being treated, a plan will be made with the nurse. All treatments should be four-six weeks apart.
Chemical Peels:
What is a chemical peel?
Chemical peels is a technique used to improved the skin’s tone and texture. The peels loosen the connections between dead skin cells by inducing exfoliation and stimulating new cell growth. The chemical peels used are light-medium depth, and are formulated to reduce irritation and redness.
Will chemical peels cause unsightly redness and peeling, like Samantha in that Sex and the City episode?
No. Clients sometimes expect to peel throughout the complete treated area. Some people may peel post treatment on days three-five just similar peeling after a tan. In some cases, exfoliation occurs on a cellular level and is not apparent to the naked eye. The exfoliation a client will experience varies depending on the peel strength and individual skin profile.
How long is the downtime?
Minimal downtime. Depending on the peel strength but skin may be red/pink post peel for a few hours.
What can be expected right after a chemical peel?
The skin is initially tender and more sun-sensitive as the epidermis renews itself. After peeling takes its course (usually three-five days after treatment), fresh new radiant skin emerges.
Treatment Masks:
What is a treatment mask used for?
Treatment masks are used to intensely hydrate and nourish the skin by infusing antioxidants and moisture binding ingredients resulting in plump, soft skin and a dewy complexion. The result is a reduction in the appearance of blemishes and excess oil, while soothing and maintaining hydration.
